2007
- Cruising the Bahamas
It is February 2, 2007, and we are slowly starting to plan our flight to Ft. Lauderdale, to arrange our mail handling for the next three months, to find an appropriate marina for the initial preparation of Impromptu (we will have a lot of cleaning and provisioning to do, but there will also be technical items that will require attention), etc.
We purchased all the necessary charts and pilot books for the East Coast of Florida, the Bahamas, and the Intra Coastal Waterway, and we are beginning to read up on the Bahamas. We know there is not that much time for all of that. However, the Bahamas were not part of our initial plan. The good thing is that we will not need to rush, we want to spend as little or as much time sailing as we feel like, nothing more. And we are very much looking forward to taking part of the Intra Coastal Waterway on our way home so we can visit historic towns like Savannah, Georgia, Beaufort, Charleston, North Carolina, etc. And our travel route and schedule will be determined by weather and pretty much nothing else.
So, if you are interested in "coming with us" again on this part of our adventure, feel free, you are invited to read along...
